As our Accountant at Traction Complete, your day is filled with variety as you will be responsible for accounts payable, banking reconciliations and assisting with general ledger duties and reporting as needed. You offer financial insights and analysis and help the financial processes scale with the business. You will learn the business, own your portion of the work, and pitch in when necessary.

What You Bring 

Our team comes from a variety of backgrounds, and we are eager to find people that are from non-traditional backgrounds. Typically, we find that people are successful in this role when they have:  

  • Post-secondary education in a business or accounting program and/or previous experience in full cycle accounting (1-2 years preferred)
  • Minimum 1–2 years of accounting experience in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Able to operate effectively & efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to implement processes and controls to ensure data integrity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to forge effective relationships through all organizational levels and with customers
  • Passion for process improvement and the drive and tenacity to exceed performance expectations and manage change
 

What You Will Be Doing

  • Prepare full-cycle accounts payable, including vendor bills, expense reports, and corporate credit cards
  • Coordinate accounts payable queries from external stakeholders and internal staff
  • Preparation and processing of various month-end duties, including journal entries, financial statement packages, and general ledger reconciliations
  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Assist with the issuance of timely, accurate, and complete financial statements
  • Assist with the coordination of information to external auditors for the annual audit
  • Support tax remittances and filings, including GST, PST, and SUT remittance preparation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with governing legislation and regulations
  • Perform comprehensive flux analysis to identify, investigate, and explain variances
  • Scale the financial system and integrated processes as new entities and products are added
  • Improve and implement financial processes to drive organizational efficiencies


Compensation

Our market data is refreshed on an annual basis to reflect the most current market conditions. The salary band for this role is $65,000 - $75,000 commensurate with experience. 

Starting salaries will vary within this range based on experience, skill level, and internal equity related to the role. In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits.
